LISTEN UP!

The Austin Enchanted Forest Needs our help!

For those of you that have known me for a while and have followed my travels through the bloggycrap I tend to do, you will recognize this place. I found myself there volunteering for a camp they had set up for Hurricane Katrina refugees a week after The Storm. (I could go into all of the amazing ways the Universe directed me there, but I won't. If you really want to kmow, read my LiveJournal from that time.)

Anyway, I lived there for four months in a tent, and my life was changed in many beautiful ways, and one horrible one, (the death of my beloved pup, Bean) all of which changed who I am to this day, I believe for the better. I met some of the most incredible people I have ever met, found the meaning of love in their incredibly selfless actions, and through the people I encountered there, whether it was Albert & co. or just someone seeking a place to call home for a brief moment, I learned who I was. Albert is the only person in my life that has said to me ""You will always have a home here. You are always welcome. You are family." Albert and I cried together over many things, which I will not mention here, but...

They need our help.NOW. Austin (or parts of it) is trying to shut them down, and that can NOT happen. I cannot let it happen, as I plan to go there again and play, perform, perhaps be able to give back to all of them what they gave to me.

I know since my time there I have introduced many of you to The Enchanted Forest, and some have found it on your own, or it has found you - but you have never lived there, and been so blessed as to get to know these people for who they are. I HAVE, which is why this is so important to me.

Please help in any way you can. This is not a venue, this is not a club that the city is trying to shut down. If it were, I honestly wouldn't give a fuck. This is a place that is pure magick, and it needs us right now. ALL of us, regardless of if you have ever been there or not.
